FC&HS: Mentor Rex visits Forres

We were excited to host a visit from National Lottery Heritage Fund Mentor Rex in the glorious sunshine

Starting from the Witches Stone, we wandered down through Grant Park and the Sunken Garden to meet our consultants: Helen, Pinny & Chloe from Helen Avenell Heritage Associates & LDN Architects

Pinny lead the walk as we took Rex on a small tour of our conservation area showing all the amazing historic assets we have but also where some of the building work needs some work to help protect and maintain the historic character.

We also showed off some of the amazing lanes and where public areas could benefit from some improvements to make it a more welcoming place and encourage social interaction.

We were very luck to pop into St Laurence Church for a look at the most amazing stained glass windows.

After an amazing tour in the warm sunshine, we headed back to review some documents and plans we have been preparing for the delivery phase of the project thanks to the local community.
